SAD - BJP invited to form government in Punjab

The SAD-BJP alliance who elected 85-year-old Prakash Singh Badal as their leader, on Friday staked claim to form the government in Punjab with Governor Shivraj Patil inviting the two parties for swearing in on March 14. This is the first time in the history ruling front is re-elected.

February export growth slows

The economy is showing signs of a slowdown with the exports registering a meagre 4.3% year- on-year growth at $24.6 billion in February. However, imports grew at a faster rate of 20.6 per cent year-on-year at $39.8 billion translating into a trade deficit of $15.2 billion during the month

L&T to get new MD & CEO

K. Venkataramanan will take over as the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of engineering conglomerate Larsen & Toubro (L&T) from April 1, 2012. He will succeed A. M. Naik who will step down as Managing Director, but continue as Executive Chairman of the group.
