Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has cleared the appointment of Raghuram Rajan as the government's chief economic adviser. He will replace Kaushik Basu. He was selected by the PM's economic advisory council which is headed by C.Rangarajan. He will face a turbulent economy which has issues that needs to be fixed.
