After the passing away of union Science and Technology Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh, Vayalar Ravi assigned the charge by the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. Currently Vayalar Ravi holds Urban Development, Earth Sciences, Overseas Indian Affairs, Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises in his portfolio. Vayalar Ravi is a congress MP from Kerala.
