ISRO and NASA are jointly working on the NASA-ISRO Synthetic Aperture Radar (NISAR) mission.This mission will be the biggest collaboration between the two space agencies.NISAR mission is a dual frequency (L & S Band) Radar Imaging Satellite.ISRO will be providing the "spacecraft bus'',S- band SAR payload and the launch vehicle,while NASA will be providing the L-band SAR and the engineering payload for the mission.The mission involves building a 2,600 kg satellite that will “effectively make a time-lapse movie of the earth” while keeping a close eye on disturbances in the ecosystem, ice-sheet collapses and natural hazards.It is expected to be launched in 2020.
