World Mental Health Day

To raise awareness of mental health issues around the world and mobilizing efforts in support of mental health World Federation for Mental Health (WFMH) has introduced 10 October as World Mental Health Day. It is recognised by World Health Organisation (WHO). It was first celebrated in 1992. This day, each October, thousands of supporters come to celebrate this annual awareness program to bring attention to mental illness and its major effects on peoples' life worldwide. In some countries this day is part of an awareness week, such as Mental Health Week in Australia.
2016 theme: “Psychological First Aid”. It highlights importance of both psychological and social support to persons suffering from mental health issues.
