National Youth Day is celebrated in India on 12 January on the birthday of Swami Vivekananda. In 1984 the Government of India declared the day as the National Youth Day and since 1985 the event is celebrated in India every year.Swami Vivekananda always believed in the power and the dreams of the youth and he wanted every youth of the country to encourage and nourish the historical culture of the nation as well as bring about advancement in them according to the changing modernization. His philosophy was a mixture of both spirituality and science.
